    We have recently benefited from a support grant contribution from Marches Renewable Energy (MarRE) to install solar panels at our Telford dealership.

We have recently benefited from a support grant contribution from Marches Renewable Energy (MarRE) to install solar panels at our Telford dealership. This means we are now using electricity generated from the solar panels, rather than electricity from the grid during sunny spells, which we are starting to enjoy more regularly now spring is here.  

 

We are regularly tracking our output and since installation last month we have already saved 2,169kg of Co2 emissions which is the equivalent of planting 97 trees.

There has been a great focus on renewable energy especially with the arrival of Electric vehicles to help reduce Co2 emissions. With the recent government announcement that they are working towards creating a zero emission vehicle sales landscape with their 2 step plan.

Step 1: Will see the end for brand new petrol and diesel car sales by 2030. Existing Petrol, Diesel and Hybrid used cars will be unaffected.

Step 2: Will see all brand new vehicles be fully zero emission from 2035.

Between 2030-2035 new vehicles can be sold if they have the capability to drive a significant distance with zero emissions (eg. Plug-in hybrids or full hybrids)

 

With this knowledge of how our industry is changing we knew this was a great time to plan for a greener future.

The project has received £27,680.29 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020. The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for the European Regional Development Fund.
