Tuesday 5th January 2021 - Covid-19 Update 

After the Government announcement on Monday 4th January regarding a new lockdown from 5th January, I wanted to outline how TJ Vickers will be there to help keep the country moving while working within the guidance laid out by Government.

SALES DEPARTMENT

Our showrooms and used car displays will be closed to the public from the 5th January. However, our teams (in a reduced fashion) will be on site ready to answer the phone, send videos , Live chat and deal with all of your questions.

Customers can still collect a car which has been purchased either online or via the telephone directly from our dealerships, though the handover will be outside so bring a coat. All vehicle handovers will take place from a designated exterior handover area and full social distancing practices will be in place to ensure both colleague and customer safety. Local home delivery options will also be available, all handled in a Covid safe manner.

AFTERSALES (SERVICE & PARTS)

There are no alterations to our service and parts operations and they will continue as normal. You will be able to book a service, repair or MOT as usual. Loan cars, collection and delivery remain available. The only thing we can’t do is drop you back off at home. If there is anything we can do to help you specifically, please let us know.

We have produced a video which covers the details, but to give an overview – social distancing measures, an appointment-only system, protective screens at our service desks as well as cashless payments have been in place for several months now.

We politely remind you to wear a Face Covering and use our hand sanitiser upon entering the dealership for your Service Department appointment.

Before we re-opened on 1st June 2020 we took the time to ensure we followed the Guidelines supplied to us to keep our employees and customers safe during these uncertain times. 

We have implemented Social Distancing in all areas of the Dealerships at Telford and Shrewsbury, and have been awarded our Compliance Certificate to show we are following the Guidelines correctly. We are reguarly reviwing these Guidelines as the Government Policy changes. Recently we have been informed that everyone visiting Retail Premises must wear a face covering during their visit from 24th July 2020, we do ask that you follow this Guidance when visiting us. We are ensuring that all of our customer facing members of staff are supplied with a mask when addressing a customer whilst they are not behind a Perspex Screen.

Sales Department Covid-19 Procedure

We have implented the following to ensure our staff and customers are kept safe during the Coronavirus outbreak.

  • Please keep 2m apart at all times where possible, if not possible please apply the new Guideline of 1m+.
  • It is now a requirement that you enter Retail Premises in a mask/ face covering from 24th July. Please ensure you follow this guidance when visiting us. 
  • Our Sales Team will wear a face mask when they are not carrying out Sales discussions behind the Perspex Screen.
  • There are Perspex screens in place to safely carry out discussions with the Sales Team.
  • We have provided Hand Sanitiser and Gloves for you to use throughout your visit.
  • We are now able to offer an unaccompanied test drive, our sales teams will advise you of how this works when you enquire. 
  • We will ensure that the car's touch points are sanitised before and after use.
