The range has been further enriched with the brand new 1.4 StarJet (swirl turbulence air-induction engineering) 16v, developing 95 bhp, the first engine to be equipped with a variable turbulence combustion system and electronically controlled phase variator, which provides fuel consumption and emissions reductions with exceptional power delivery.

The best diesel range in its class
Choose between Fiat’s renowned 75 bhp 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine, to combine exceptional performance with very low fuel consumption or for those who only begin to enjoy themselves at 100 bhp, the Grande Punto offers the 130 bhp 1.9 MultiJet, both of which comes with a 6-speed gearbox and variable geometry turbine with intercooler.

With 15,000 hours of calculations and hundreds of component and crash tests, we’ve made safety a top priority on the Grande Punto. Active safety features include ABS + EBD, as well as ESP (Electronic Stability Control) incorporating ASR/MSR/HBA and Hill Holder (standard on the 1.9 MultiJet and 1.4 16v Sporting engines). Passive safety equipment includes two dual-stage front airbags, side and window airbags (six airbags are standard on all versions except Active, which has two), an energy-absorbing body shell and safety belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters.
